The Apereo Foundation (apereo.org), is a global non-profit supporting the development and use of open source software in higher education. Apereo is hosting an online conference, "Open Apereo," on June 14th. I am organizing a FREE local watch-party in Troy, NY., where local Capital District open source enthusiasts can get together to watch the conference. My goal is simply to help promote open source software and communities in the Capital District.
We'll meet locally to watch the Open Apereo online conference, as well as break out for our own topics inspired by the presentations and speakers.
Open Apereo 2022 explores the value of open source software and communities to address education’s top technology and teaching and learning issues.
General topics include demonstrations of key open source tools used at colleges and universities around the globe: Sakai, Opencast, Xerte, uPortal, CAS, and more.
Technical and community development sessions as well. The full conference schedule is available online.
