Presentation and Discussion: Single Directory Components
Components have been a big topic in recent years for web designers and developers. The idea being that a component, a bundle of html, css, and js, can be built to work independently, or reused in other places. The challenge with Drupal is that themes have a specific place for templates and css/js libraries. To work on a component, you have to know which files are involved, and where to find them.
Single Directory Components is a step forward in Drupal core, allowing developers to restructure their theme directories and keep related component files together. It has recently been added to Drupal 10 as an experimental module.
We'll take a look at how to use Single Directory Components, and discuss how we're building component based systems in Drupal.
