Presentation and discussion: Migration strategies for Drupal upgrades
Drupal's upgrade migrations start with a 1:1 copy of the site. Sometimes you want a straight port, but more often you are doing a rebuild and need to change the content structure. Available modules and implementation techniques have changed over time, and require modifications to the data import. Content updated on the live site will need to get synced with anything created in the new one. Drupal has "node complete" and "classic" migrations that handle revisions and translations differently.
Andrew Morton will talk through things he learned on his last migration project, and recommendations for approaching these issues.
