The great migration: a Drupal journey and Biotech Careers use case
Todd Smith will present a use case on Digital World Biology’s Biotech-Careers.org (BTC) web site. BTC is a highly visited biotechnology education resource that provides career information for those interested in technical careers. A significant part of BTC is its biotech employer database, a dynamic resource of over 9500 companies and organizations, with locations & maps, organized by over 500 taxonomy terms. BTC is presently on Drupal 7 and is being migrated to Drupal 10. Smith will cover the site’s general content and how views are used to combine terms, mapped locations, and company lists to create rich navigation experiences and get Google’s “attention.” He will also describe his initial experiences migrating data from Drupal 7 to Drupal 10, comment on what he thought would be hard, but turned out to easy, thought would be easy, but seems hard, and what he will miss from Drupal 7 and looks forward to in Drupal 10.
Location
Online via Zoom; the URL for the meeting will be shared in the SeaDUG Slack workspace and with anyone who signs up for the event on groups.drupal.org.
