Topic: Using the Schema.org Metatag Modules to Structure Your Website Data

Description:
What is structured data and how can it help search engines and LLMs understand your site? What is schema.org and do metatags still matter? If you could add the more detailed metatag markup to a Drupal site, why would you want to?

Structured data can be added to any web page using JSON LD markup. The markup helps with SEO and AIO by aligning your web site content with a standardized hierarchical taxonomy of data types and properties, such as Article, Course, Event, FAQ, Person, Organization, Website, and so forth. Since the module along with nearly 2 dozen submodules is already available in the U of M Drupal Platform, implementing the JSON markup can be done relatively quickly, if you have the data in specific fields in your content types.

In CCAPS we have been using the Schema.org Metatag module for some time, to create the JSON LD structured data code automatically, extending the basic metatags for various schema.org properties, and using tokens that reference specific fields. I plan to demo how we have configured the module and several submodules, and answer questions if I can.
