The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a DrupalCon report for next time. Feedback on that?
What else would everyone like to see discussed?
What would you like to discuss?
I'd like for us to throw around some ideas and then set up a list and schedule for future meetings.
So far I've seen taxonomy, forms, theming (much to discuss there), and I suspect performance tweaks might be a good one.

Ideas:
There are plenty of ideas out there... pick one and volunteer. :)
We're ready to participate
The more time we have to prepare, the better the presentation is likely to be, so the earlier we agree on a topic the better.
From the comments in the group, I'll also lean towards 1 hour as the appropriate length for a session.
That's not a lot of time to cover things in great detail though, so some of the deeper concepts may need to be split up.
I offer our time for the following presentations
* Introduction to Drupal internals - What is a node, How does CCK work?
* Introduction to module development - the interactive session.
* Some tips and tricks we've learned about theming in Drupal - aka Rapid theming in Drupal
Of course, I'm just guessing at what people will want to see. We can lead a session on any of the above topics as well.
We're really reaching for a topic here folks, give us some feedback.
I would like to hear more
I would like to hear more about each of those three topics you propose, Silocon.Valet. Well, me specifically the first two, and my accomplice (Jeff) the Rapid Theming tricks and tips :)
The vote is in?
Democracy has mumbled, and the single vote for topic (so far) seems to be an introduction to Drupal internals or Theming. I'm going to lean towards the internals, since it targets all audiences. So, barring any future votes or discussion I'd like to formally submit my proposal for the next meetup.
Drupal guts 101
This would be an entry level discussion of what goes on behind the scenes in a typical Drupal session and an overview of the key players. This should be of use to all levels, giving a decent understanding of the concepts underpinning work in Drupal. I hope to answer questions such as "What is a hook", "What is a content type","What is a view" and "Where are my keys". There will be pictures, diagrams even. I'll likely have to work hard to fit the tour de force into an hour and may well go over a bit, but promise not to lead a three hour session again.
During Q/A I will go as in depth as I can with my own limited knowledge.
I may spend more time on views if that is of interest to folks, it really deserves it's own session since there is so much there, but I can give enough detail to be dangerous in a rather short time. Content type + Views mastery can get you 90% of the way there with a huge number of use cases.
I think that sounds great,
I think that sounds great, but could you do it for the May meeting?
I'd really like to have the round table after DrupalCon. I am pretty sure we'll have several group members there to soak in some good info, and we might as well share it while it is still fresh in our minds. A couple people have expressed interest in this format for next time as well. I think it will be good for all of us.
Everyone please chime in if I am way off-base here though.
I am going to go ahead and post a wiki page with meetings, dates and topics so we can start penciling in some topics.
I must have missed something.
I must have missed something. I thought it had been decided that next month was dedicated for a report back from DrupalCon with fresh information on the latest and greatest in the world of Drupal.
If there was suppose to be a vote and I missed it, a DrupalCon recap gets my vote. The inner workings of Drupal could be interesting for one of the upcoming meetings.
I'm jealous of all you who get to vacation in San Fransisco!
You missed nothing
I only saw one post regarding interest in the next meetup topic. Katherine's the final decider, and I merely submitted a proposal.
Sounds good to me.
All three sound fine to me....at this point, I'm trying to sponge up all I can about anything. Still looking for some hands on guidance too so, if you know anyone that wouldn't mind taking a training approach with someone in the Clear Lake area (and I will travel as needed too) that would help to.
On a side note, as I told Stuart the other day, I manage to break the Acquia Stack at the PHP portion of the install....got it fixed today so....had to change some system32 dlls.
