A new D.I.Y. digital music shop service for artists/bands worth noting..

Just thought I'd mention that 7digital in the UK just launched a new service that allows bands to D.I.Y. their own digital music releases..

I've nothing to do with 7digital, although I have used them many times in the past, especially for single releases (they report sales to the official chart company) and campaigns.

Well worth noting for Drupallers involved in music sites and are watching this space..thought I'd mention it. the chart reporting and DIY element is quite important for bands/artists and a fairly unique service.

What I would tend to do or advise, is stick with Drupal for your own Digital Music Store (which means you don't have to give anyone else a comission/pay a fee just to sell your music) and use the indiestore thing just for single releases.

hope that's of use to others...I'm going to try out the indiestore myself to see how good it is and post back up here.
