Hey folks!
Do you need to build a website? Are you a developer that provides Drupal solutions for clients? Do you represent a Drupal shop that is looking to hire Drupal developers or to establish collaborative relationships with other Drupal shops? If you have answered "yes" to any of these questions, this meetup is for you!
In the world of open source software the name of the game is "coopetition" and Koumbit embraces this concept completely. We therefore invite you to the first Drupal Open Market in Montreal. The goal of this session is to allow:
1) users to find and compare Drupal services providers,
2) for Drupal services providers to meet other Drupal shops to evaluate potential collaboration,
3) for Drupal shops to find developers to hire, and
4) for developers to meet each other, etc.
So I'm thinking Friday, the 21st... how does that sound to you folks? Once we get a few comments, we can pick the date before Monday.
We can't all make it to Barcelona for the DrupalCon so come on down join the party in Montreal!

Sounds great!
I'm a Drupal developer, and the only person from the organization I work for based in Montreal. I would be happy to get to know other people working with Drupal in town. Omar, I'm very interested to meet people from Koumbit, since I've read a little about your organizing principles. My organization (Openflows) has some of the same goals.
Friday is okay for me (this is work, so I would prefer the afternoon and not the evening, if possible).
Est-ce qu'on fait la réunion bilingue, pour être ouverte à tous?
Put me down for a place
Omar, great idea. In theory I'll be there, it all depends on when exactly my wife gives birth - the due date is Sunday 16th, so any day now. As a suggestion for a time, how about 2pm? Where were you thinking of meeting?
Dave
hey guys...
two things... 1) I have been really really really swamped and didn't get a chance to follow-up on this properly... and 2) I think that it is not worth doing it tomorrow if there are only three of us.
Clearly, I need to organise this better and to announce it through various other channels in order to get more people. The first one I organised had over 30 people... it is time for another one like that IMO.
I agree
Definitely worth postponing IMO too. I've got to meet with a client tomorrow too, so its probably for the best. Its a bit odd that there are not more replies, seeing as we are 53 subscribers here. Ah well, I guess everybody is just busy developing Drupal websites :)
Next time...
I was looking forward to meeting locals, but it'll have to be another time. Thanks for trying. Omar. Perhaps we could try planning a little further in advance, too?
Count me in
I'm up for this!
I'v been learning Drupal for a few months and I'd like to develop a custom profile for small-scale locality, group, family, and friends websites, along the lines of DrupalEd for school communities, though I'm no developer like those dudes are...
