Starting our first Drupal Project

OK! From out last link up it was recommended that us noobs should start out with Drupal by first finding a problem to solve. I have so far come up with 2 problems (personal website and website for church) and now in the process of jotting down what i really want on the sites starting with mine.

Can you please reiterate what was suggested in the last meeting about the approach that we should take, which was also suggested as a track for up coming sessions, where by we do like a sketch of what the site should look like in terms of structure on paper and then work our way from there?
