The idea of this group is to have more or less regular meetings for people who work with Drupal and/or are curious to know, what Drupal is.
My Name ist Hagen.
Since 2006 I live in Fitou, between Narbonne and Perpignan.
I am originally from Germany and I am trying hard learning French :-).
For me it would be nice, if I find a bunch of Drupalers in the Languedoc or even the south of France. The name of the group was originally Fitou, but the "drupalgroup admin" changed it to southern France - not bad ...
At the moment we (cocoate.com) are building our new office here and as it looks for now it will be ready by the end of November 2007.
So the first meeting/planning/come together in Fitou could be at this time.
I would like to start in Fitou because I love the environment here.
Later on, we can spread the Drupal idea all over the south of France.

"Southern" france
Well, I live in "southern" France, or at least, according to the definition that anything south of the Loire :-)
I am in Riberac, in the Dordogne (for fun, scrawl all over www.dordognet.com). However, having just driven back from Nice (very Southern France), I can safely report, Southern France is a BIG place.... It's not going to be like popping over for a cup of tea to get together :-)
So, lets put a lot of planning into the meeting, and try and attract people from a distance (Barcelona is closer to you than I am, I think!)

Do we have to speak english? Or french? I prefer german, really. Nevertheless, we live so close, that we could meet any time we like. Where can we sleep in Fitou? Is there a campground? We love camping. Or is there a 5* hotel? We love 5* hotels too ;) Let me know, when the party starts...

I can speak German and English and a little bit French.
Sleeping:
There are so many possibilities in and near Fitou.
F.e. we have two appartments (fimidi.com) :-). 100 meters away, friends of us have a bed & breakfest (l'abri du vent) but they are struggling with their blog :-)
There is also a campground near Fitou (I've never been there).
So ... all in all, enough space for 1.500 people to be here in summer.
