Are there any other Drupal groups in SF or on the Peninsula that use a less formal approach to meetings? The SF group is great for networking but I like a give-and-take with others to advance my Drupal skills. Also, the meeting should be smaller so one can actually talk to each other. I am an intermediate Drupal themer and the things I am interested in most are probably not appealing to very advanced Drupaleers.To give an idea: I just learned how to embed a view into a page template to create a context sensitive block. Using views with jQuery UI or jQuery Tools to create sliders, accordions and tabs is something I know well. These are the types of hands-on discussions and sharing I am interested in. Anybody else out there that is interested to get together, or better yet, is there a group already with such a modus operandi?

Coders' Lounge
I am also interested in sessions for peer-to-peer intermediate Drupal learning. What wernerglinka is proposing is similar to the Coders' Lounge that started today at UC Berkeley. I couldn't attend, but from the summary posted at http://groups.drupal.org/node/63978#comment-200078, it sounds great.
With the rapid growth of the Drupal community, I think there is room for a Coders' Lounge in SF or on the Peninsula, as long as it is on a time and day that doesn't overlap the other Drupal MeetUps.

I think we at SF State would be happy to host a Coders' Lounge in the same spirit as the one at Berkeley, at least on our main campus. If that is of any interest then let me know and I can look into it further about securing a monthly spot.
