Hey all,
I havent really posted much in this group (maybe once ever) but I thought I'd shoot this out. There is a cheap seminar called Get Motivated on June 21st ( http://www.getmotivated.com/ ). It is probably just a big motivational seminar but has a bunch of "famous" people at it. I know its not particularly about drupal or web devel but I'm a business owner in Omaha and will probably go to see if they give any good biz insite.
Anyone else planning on going?

My friend was just telling me she was going to this and how Tom Osborne and Bo Pelini were speaking. Sounds like an interesting event, although I won't be able to go since I'll be in Chicago.
It's $4.95 a person for a ticket or $19 for an office group of tickets.

Yeah, I figured I'd go b/c is so stink'n cheap. At that price, all the speakers are probably pushing some kind of product (book, coaching, etc...) but hopefully its not to salesy.
low entry, expensive day
$5 entry for an 8 hour event - what's your time worth?
My wife went a few years ago as a required work function. It was mostly people selling their books with a few good speakers mixed in between :( At that time the tickets were $50 a piece, so if they are cheaper now I can only imagine that there is even more of a "buy my book" element to it.
Maybe take along your laptop and do work during the bad speakers?

A place I worked for sent everyone there once. There were a couple good speakers but mostly snake-oil. The company lost a whole day of productivity. Getting together over coffee to talk about Drupal would get me more fired up. :)
Oh yeah, I'm defiantly going
Oh yeah, I'm defiantly going to bring my laptop... battery doesn't last 8 hour though :P. If the event is boring and worthless I'll leave, only wasting 5 bucks.
Also, in 8 hours if I focus on trying to sell my own services to as many people as possible I don't see why I cant make money off this also :). If people are being sold to all day long, they will barely notice being sold to a little more.
I am going to miss that
