Three Areas for Improvement

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Well, my optimism toward eC4 is waning. There are three areas that still need to be developed to work for the project I'm designing:

1) Affiliate Management

Gordon's indicated that this feature, supplied by eC Commissions, has been postponed. Is there a timeline for completion of this feature?

2) PayPal Subscriptions

Again, Gordon says the feature, through ec Recurring, has been postponed. Again, a timeline?

3) PayPal Buy Now

The trouble (for me) with the cart paradigm is that it makes the order process for a single downloadable item very cumbersome:

Add to Cart >> Cart >> Checkout >> Addresses >> PayPal

Here's what I need:

Buy Now >> PayPal

I've looked for other solutions. Übercart does #3 better, but #1 and #2 are out. LM Paypal does #2, but #1 and #3 are out. I've not seen another solution. Now that Drupal 6 RC1 is out, can we expect to see a beta of eC4 that addresses these areas?

If I could write it myself or contribute code to eC, I would. I just don't have that experience. What I do have is the ability to contribute monetarily, if that will help get this going.

Most of what you indicate

Most of what you indicate above is going to be in v4. The main thing is that I have been removing duplicate issues, or things that are not really issues. The ec commission is going to be fully operational by release, and also I see that the subscriptions will also be done. But this has always been borderline.

As for the buy now I think this maybe done, but I am not sure.

How can I help?

Gordon, how can I help? Testing is tough, because I want to use features that aren't implemented. I know that this time of the year leaves people without a lot of time for projects like this. What can I do?
