July Meeting. July was another unique meeting. The meeting started with Cheryl Morton in the driver's seat with 15 or so Drupal folks as back seat drivers. (Thanks for your patience with us, Cheryl.) Cheryl was at her computer and various Drupal developers and designers talked her through setting up her first Drupal site. As several folks teamed up with Cheryl to further customize her new site, 3 or 4 discussions were spawned on a wide variety of Drupal development and design topics.
August Meeting. Mike Potter has graciously volunteered to give an interesting presentation:
Does your client want to easily arrange custom content in the sidebars of their web site? Are you afraid to give them access to the Block admin page? Do you even know what Blocks are? "Nodes in Block" comes to the rescue with an easy way to allow your clients to create and manage Block content. You will learn:
1) What is a Block in Drupal?
2) How to use the normal Block Admin page to manage blocks
3) How to install the "Nodes in Block" module
4) Creating a new "BlockNode" custom content type using CCK
5) Adding a custom field using CCK to modify the theme style of your Block.
Whether you are a module coder or a themer or just learning the basics of Drupal, you will learn something new in this session. In the end you'll have a nifty new way to allow your Client to manage their sidebar content.
Bring your burning Drupal questions and comments. That’s what makes these meetings so valuable for everyone.
