Dead module?

I fought long and hard to get the module to work properly on a large Drupal 6 installation, but gave up. My story in this thread - and my final change to Advanced Forum: http://drupal.org/node/529712#comment-2895638

I have no idea what the fate of the module is. I have all kinds of respect for the people who made it (and may or may not maintain it), but it just didn't work for me. The new solution does.
