The Drupal Association is trying to figure out where to host the DrupalCons for 2012 and beyond. Since Ottawa isn't on the list, I'd suggest/request that you vote for Montreal. More info is available here and the actual poll can be found here. The deadline for voting is August 4th, 2010.

L’Association Drupal fait présentement une recherche afin de déterminer l’intérêt pour une dizaine de ville américaines et canadiennes pour le DrupalCon de 2012 et les années suivantes. Ya, I don't think we're quite ready to host a DrupalCon here in Ottawa. There's been discussion of organizing a DrupalCamp, but it hasn't gotten to be more than that.
It would be totally fun if it were in either Montreal or Toronto. It's about time since it were in Canada! And Montreal is a more fun & beautiful city too!
So ya, I'll definitely do what I can to encourage it coming to Montreal. That would be amazing!
