We had a great turnout for the Niagara meetup, 7 ppl for the first event! It might seem like a small number to some, but larger groups have started with fewer people, so I'm really excited about what this means for Drupal in Niagara.
Attendance:
Trevor, Pierre, Brian, John, Dwight, Dionne, Don
To recap, here's some of the things we decided.
- We have enough people to start our own separate group from Hamilton. We just have enough people here that it makes sense.
- We will start coordinating with the great folks in the WNY group to bring in some guest speakers so we have a group large enough to be worthwhile for anyone travelling to see them.
Proposed topics
- General Drupal introduction
- What's new in Drupal 7
- Drupal setup best practices: maintaining code, data and sanity.
- Performance and scalabiity: Hopefully via a guest speaker.
- What's in Your Toolbox: Multiple volunteers can talk about what tools they use to get the job done, and why.
- Drush: The most kickass-ingest tool to do absolutely amazing things with drupal.
Please let me know if I've missed anything.
