For our Case Study we will be having Kevin Obrien from SF State come and discuss how Drupal is being used at SF state.
Transitioning to Drupal at SF State
In November of last year, San Francisco State University began transitioning its portal from IBM Websphere to Drupal. Despite only having 3 months and a team of 3, the transition was quite successful, and the school has continued to move university functions onto the Drupal platform. Kevin O'Brien and Supakit Kiatrungrit from the Division of IT at SF State will be discussing the transition, the agile approach taken, the bumps and bruises experienced along the way, and where Drupal is heading both on campus and in the University of Caifornia and California State University systems.(hint: it's spreading like wildfire).
For our Tech:
New features in Panels, CTools and Panels Everywhere.
Earl Miles the creator of Views and Panels will join us and talk about what these modules do and demonstrate some of the new features and give ideas with some crazy things you can do with them.
THIS IS NOT TO BE MISSED as panel and views are a core feature set for building awesome Drupal sites.
If you know anyone who wants is working with Drupal and does not know about this group please do spread the word.
If you are looking for office space for your Drupal development let me know - commerce guys has great space available to share with Drupal Developers.
If your company would like to sponsor the Drinks for the event let me know and I can get you setup. Sponsorship is 5 cases of good beer and 1 case of soft drinks. Cost is approximately $175.
