Help us plan our meetings
We are a fairly small group but are growing so I think it's time we get an idea as to what people expect this group to be and how we can all learn from each other. Please take a moment to post a response to these questions so we can get a better feel for what we should plan for.

  1. Are you wanting to just hang out and socialize with other Drupal users or show off your skills and land gigs and find people work, or both, or something else?

  2. Is Rocket Bakery a good location to meet up each month? Do you have a better place to meet that might have a projector or within your office building?

  3. How long have you been using Drupal and what do you specialize in? (Module development, site development, theming, design, etc.)?

  4. Does having each person do a presentation on a cool project or module they are working on or working with sound good?

Thanks everyone, looking forward to seeing some responses so we can make this user group something we can all get something out of. Hope to see you there next Tuesday!

Newbie to the group here - awesome to see one in Spokane!!

Hi, newbie here...I recall a couple years ago a group tried to get started in the Spokane area for Drupal (not sure if this is it or not), but nothing came out of it - I think I actually joined but is not shown in my groups section. Anyways, good to see a group of this size in the area, I live in the Valley and look forward to meeting other Drupalers in my area.

Here's some responses Jeremy, just to get the ball rolling and rockin....

  1. Are you wanting to just hang out and socialize with other Drupal users or show off your skills and land gigs and find people work, or both, or something else?

Initially to get to know more Drupalers is my main goal. I've been trying to work around my day time job for a long time to polish up my Drupal skills and web design/development in general. Hope to land or take a more direct career path in the area of web design and development in the near future!

  1. Is Rocket Bakery a good location to meet up each month? Do you have a better place to meet that might have a projector or within your office building?

Have never been to the Rocket Bakery before, so my thought here is open. Is it big enough to accommodate the size of the group I guess is my only comment.

  1. How long have you been using Drupal and what do you specialize in? (Module development, site development, theming, design, etc.)?

I've been using Drupal for site dev for a couple years, but not as steady as I would like. I had a project moving along source-deluxe.com, but took the wrong approach to dev so I took a step back to reevaluate everything. Now, only recently have I started back up with a more stable, sound, and ideal infrastructure for my network cluster of servers and to attain a more adequate dev cycle to work on site development. So, basically in full force and never looking back! :)

  1. Does having each person do a presentation on a cool project or module they are working on or working with sound good?

I personally am not in a position yet to prez anything, but once I get my current dev site up and running - would be happy to share and attain feedback from the group.

Thanks!

Welcome and questionnaire responses

Hey Mike, thanks for joining the group and taking the time to fill out questionnaire! I should probably respond to my own questions as well so people get a better sense of the group.

  1. Looking to meet other Drupal users in person as well as help others with what I know and learn from others. It's always nice to pick up some new work and at times I have work I need help with so looking to build a network of locals I can depend on should the opportunity arise. So if we can help each other out that would be great.

  2. Seems like a good to place to meet for a small group and they have wifi and a central location to downtown. I'm located in Spokane Valley so it's a little bit of a drive for me but willing to do that if it's easier for more people to come who may be downtown already.

  3. I've been using Drupal for almost 4 1/2 years now. I specialize in theming and site development. I also do design but have been more focused on theming and site development lately.

  4. I'd like to see what others are working on and learn how they approached their site and issues they ran into and how they solved them. Would also like to show off some sites and themes I've developed and see if there was a better or easier method to building certain aspects of the site.
