How does CiviCRM help:

I have a love/hate feeling about CiviCRM. I understand that it currently serves two masters and that expands the base of potential users but it also weakens the offering. I wonder if CiviCRM would be better off choosing either Drupal or Joomla or forking. I fear trying to keep a foot in each box will hold it back.
