Does anyone know if groups.drupal.org will have Frappr functionality at some point in the future?

yes, thats the plan ... i just updated gmap on http://groupsbeta.drupal.org and disabled location.module there. i'm hoping that gmap is all we need. it seems under more active development than location. lets use groupsbeta as a testing ground.
issue #1: i get odd messages and grey map at bottom of http://groupsbeta.drupal.org/node/add/og
there is a sitewide map of users at http://groupsbeta.drupal.org/map/user and of nodes at http://groupsbeta.drupal.org/map/node. these will be 'group filtered' by the time we go live.

Looks like issue #1 in your post got fixed because I do NOT get odd messages or a grey map. However, I logged in to http://groupsbeta.drupal.org/ and I'm getting a "Page not found" at both:
http://groupsbeta.drupal.org/map/user
and
http://groupsbeta.drupal.org/map/node
Is the "sitewide map of users" in your post available at a different page?
My intent is to have both of the below Frappr groups discontinued per http://groups.drupal.org/node/343#comment-969. The subscribers on Frappr have continued to grow and I think it would be best to allow them to add themselves somewhere here on groups.drupal.org.

I could have sworn there was a frappr module
I couldn't get it to work on a project this spring, so I'd set it aside. However, now I can't find it. Did it have a different name? Am I going crazy?
Edit: Never mind. It was Plazes ... same idea, basically, yes?
