Modules are grouped on the module administration page (admin/modules in Drupal 7) by package, which is defined, optionally, in our module's .info file. Package, then, is the most visible way in which modules are categorized. This wiki page documents package names chosen by module maintainers, please edit it! Note that current guidelines suggest that the vast majority of modules should not define a package and therefore fall into the Other category, but there is discussion about this. Question: What relationship, if any, should package names have with administration page categories as on admin/config? For instance, should file-related modules go in a Media package to match admin/config/media?
Please flag what appear to be incorrect use of package names and link to an issue filed in that project's queue. Please keep all lists in alphabetical order.
