User group meeting
Hey everybody!
I'll be in Pasadena TX Oct 27-29 delivering Drupal training for a private client.
I'd like to get together with some locals on Thursday evening for dinner, Drupal, and drinks.
I'm staying at the Hampton Inn Houston/Clear Lake. I'll need someone to suggest a good place to meet up.
Any takers? Any ideas? I'm open to anything.

Hi Doug, Glad to have you in
Hi Doug,
Glad to have you in the neighborhood. :)
Stuart can probably suggest some places. When do you actually get in? If you can make it, our usual meetup is on the 26th.
I should be available sometime while you are here. Maybe we should get a group together and go to the Kemah Boardwalk? I am up for anything, really. :)
Yes, the Kemah Boardwalk
Yes, the Kemah Boardwalk would be a fun place to hang out, with a half dozen restaurants to choose from and activities going on, including the new roller coaster (the Boardwalk Bullet). Here's a map of the Kemah Boardwalk area:

If The Aquarium is open for eating, I would recommend there. Otherwise, Landry's or The Flying Dutchman. But you can't really go wrong with any of the restaurants there on the Boardwalk.
I'm not sure which Hampton Inn you are staying it (Bay Area Blvd or NASA Parkway / NASA Road 1), but I could easily give you a lift from either to the Boardwalk and back if we arranged a group meeting. My company offices are at 1331 Gemini, just off the back side of NASA, so I am near you if you want to meet. I have at least three of us in Clear Lake who could come, maybe closer to six depending who's in town at the time. Plus the HDUG group may have more who want to come down and hang out.
Sounds good. I'm in. Roller
Sounds good. I'm in. Roller coaster, shellfish, Drupal... :)
Whoa!
Stuart,
I just read your reply again and realized you were offering to grab me. Is it too late to say yes?
I was producing a DrupalCamp in indy that finally occurred this past Saturday so I wasn't following this thread as closely as I could have been.
Who's on board at this point?
I'm at Hampton Inn at 506 Bay Area Boulevard, Webster, TX.
I was mistaken, I'm done at 4:30 at San Jacinto South at 13735 Beamer Rd, Houston, TX 77089 only 15min from the hotel. So I'n theory I should be parked at the hotel and ready to rock slightly before 5pm. Is that too early for you?
I'm TOTALLY riding the BoardwalkBullet!

It's looking like I won't make it. I have a sick husband and some deadlines looming, so I am 80% sure I am staying put tonight. Y'all have fun though! Please show Doug a good time on behalf of all Houston Drupalers. :)
Sure thing, I can give you a
Sure thing, I can give you a lift, you are barely 1 mile from our offices, and 5pm is good. I'll be in the bright yellow Mini Cooper.
I have a few people from our Clear Lake / NASA group and there is at least one other from the main HDUG crew who will be able to come out as well. Look forward to it.
Kemah Boardwalk for Thursday it is!!!
I land at 8:15pm tonight and take my rental car to Hampton Inn & Suites Houston/Clear Lake-Nasa Area 506 West Bay Area Blvd. Webster, Texas 77598
I'm teaching at San Jacinto and I'm done at 4pm. I haven't looked at a map to see how long it takes to get to Kemah Boardwalk but I'll head straight there and maximize the time I have.
Looking forward to it!
Catch me at 1-765-5-DRUPAL if you're looking for me there!
Welcome!
Hey Doug!
I'm in Austin, and won't be able to make it. Ya'll have fun! BTW, are you going to be at Austin Drupal Camp?
