Although some, especially Hong Kong, cities already has a very active user community; the other cities in the PRD (40 million people in mostly 4 hour driving range) seem to be lagging behind. Target of this English community is to orginize some events and spread the Drupal word throughout the region. Why do programming and PHP/Drupal in particular lack popularity in China? Is it because of language barriers? lack of education? A cultural problem with Open Source?
