Small Scale Drupal

We encourage users to post events happening in the community to the community events group on https://www.drupal.org.

Welcome

Freelancer? Contractor? SME?

Create and join discussions that matter to your organisation!

Small Scale Drupal ('SSD') is an initiative to support the building of networks of value between the community at large in order to produce collaborative support, products and services based around the Drupal platform and the community who builds it. An open an inviting community, supportive, educational and sustainable growth opportunity for Drupal as a Free/Libre Open Source Software project. {feel free to suggest changes to this wording, it's just a start!}

The creation of this follows up on Dries' answer to a question from the audience during DrupalCon Amsterdam 2014 Q&A with Dries session where he said:

“Large Scale Drupal doesn’t have to be the only solution, I definitely encourage others to start their own - maybe there’s a need for a Small Drupal Initiative or some things like that.”
~ Dries Buytaert, DrupalCon Amsterdam 2014 Q&A with Dries

Freelancer presence at Drupalcon Amsterdam

I blogged about the two freelancer BoF sessions held at Drupalcon Amsterdam and what it means for small-scale Drupalers of all stripes, especially with a view to Drupal wanting to credit organizations more (and what that means when you're basically an organization of one.)

I thought it might be of interest to people here. SSD even gets a mention ;)

Contract work in Boulder

I'm hoping to find a contractor who is looking for a short assignment in Boulder. 2-4weeks.
It's for a project who's data source for this site and APIs will be all Salesforce. However, the front facing needs to be built on Drupal.

If anyone is interested, please let me know.
Thank you in advance.

What is the effect of small scale Drupal to the sustainability and future relevance of the product?

It is hard to answer this question without a clear set of hypotheses of current issues that could/can affect the sustainability and relevance of Drupal in the future of the web, but I think that those interested in small scale Drupal (SSD) probably have some of these hypotheses in their head already and see SSD as the solution. I would love to hear those perspectives.

Six key network roles - which one(s) best describe you?

Following is an excerpt from The Networked Enterprise: Competing for the Future Through Virtual Enterprise Networks. What role(s) resonate most with you? I guess I resonate most with tech support with a bit of brokering & exec leadership roles although, with regards to the latter, I tend to be best at getting things going and when things need delivering, I generally look to others to manage the ongoing ;)
