Switcher with opacity slider

Hi,
I'm asking myself for a long time if it is possible to implement a custom layer switcher using custom behaviors with Drupal?
What I would like to do is a layer ordering with opacity slider.

For the opacity slider, it would be better to have a JQuery slider.

Is it possible?
Does someone can share his experience regarding this?
Is there a working example somewhere?
