The idea is to use a simple text markup syntax, similar to a wiki markup, to denote some of the most commonly used DocBook elements. Then, this markup can be converted to HTML for being displayed on a browser, and most importantly, can be converted to XML for exporting the documents in the DocBook format.

DKAN is the Drupal-based version of CKAN, the world's leading open-source open data publishing platform.
It provides a complete open source software solution for data publishers using only Drupal. The distro is intended to provide a simpler alternative to integrating CKAN with Drupal, especially for existing government Drupal users.

The is support group is intended to help DKAN users provide peer support to one another, as well as to discuss the development roadmap for the distro.
