I note that there is at least one specific invoicing module but would
appreciate any informed comments about it.

At the December meetup in Houston, I quickly presented a sketchy idea for a new business based on selling small businesses a Drupal site with built in CRM. I'm not a Drupal developer. I'm a marketing professional with expertise in lead generation and email newsletters. However, I'm very excited to talk with anyone who would like to work on a new business startup around this idea.
