Patrick Keenan is a writer, designer, programmer, who orients his pursuits around achievable betterment in the present, while maintaining a long term vision of what is possible. Society is a big thing to think about, so Patrick works in small teams to make big things happen.
The Movement is a design practice which uses an open process to work with larger groups of people to create artifacts and services of immediate value: social, ecological, and economic. The web is a big enabler of this kind of process, and so are facilitated in-person workshops.

he Movement is a design practice which uses an open process, working with large groups of people to create artifacts and services of immediate value: social, ecological, and economic. Using social web tool and facilitating in-person workshops, leads more informed decisions and better design outcome.
Founded in 2006, The Movement, as a studio, has designed and consulted on project from packaging to information visualization, to architecture. More recently in 2008, a network was created to invite a community of people to help redefine what a design agency looks like. This network of people work with The Movement on various projects, in various stages. It has become clear that new technology affects our structure of work in fundamental ways, The Movement Network is seeking to pioneer that change as a community of change-making practice.
In addition to working with clients who are changing the world, The Movement also champions a number of social start-ups. The Undecided is platform to help voters decide who to vote for using prioritization of issues. You are where you eat is a bold undertaking to open the local food distribution system, and empower small producer and distributors in reaching local patrons. Young Movers is an initiative to mentor design students while also providing affordable design services to organizations creating social impact.
In essence, The Movement works with leaders to leverage the power of design, and humanities collective potential to do better.
