As a co-founder of New Riders Publishing in the mid-80s, Jon created the first desktop publishing system to lay out their best-selling books about AutoCAD. It was a precursor to software like PageMaker and Venture Publisher. Later, in conjunction with Ziff Davis Publishing, Jon was instrumental in creating the first database generated web site technology behind the very popular AnchorDesk email alert, which was sent to over 3 million readers daily at its peak. The first program he wrote was saved to paper tape.
