- About Me
I've been using Drupal since 2010. I started on 6 then quickly moved to 7. I'm now completely focused on projects with Drupal 8.
I'm experienced on both front and back-end Drupal development. My journey started with gaining expertise on the front-end. I understand CSS and paradigms for best-practices using it. I understand the Drupal API and am careful to leverage what exists before re-wheeling. I understand JavaScript enough to know when it is actually needed. I take a methodical approach to architecting robust and manageable, component-driven solutions that build off each iteration for proper agile consumption.
The possibilities provided by Drupal and the community that makes it are simply astounding and limited only by passion and imagination. With Drupal 7 having standardized so much, it became much easier to build out components aligned to a more robust API with a heavy focus on sharing common architecture between components (e.g. entities, render arrays, etc.). This led to simpler development and quicker to-market solutions and further positioned Drupal as a standard of the CMS world rather then an option.
And, now, with Drupal 8+, we see the entire API re-architected on more accepted paradigms with an even broader standardization and alignment with the PHP community development standards, tooling and design patterns (e.g. Composer, yml files, twig, RESTful entities, etc.). This is leading existing PHP Developers on a compelling path to embrace all that we early adapters have loved about Drupal with a framework for even more powerful enterprise solutions.
Open-source remains the future of programming. The Drupal project and it's contributing community epitomize the possibilities well-organized open-source projects bring to the world. As the digital age brings new demands for data consumption and decoupling across multiple devices / channels, Drupal and it's community of dedicated contributors continue to position it as the CMS for the job. I'm proud to be even a little part of that progress providing back to the Drupal project in various capacities and continue to grow within the community as well.
