- About Me
Started off my career as an agency recruiter and after doing it for about 2 1/2 years I decided that I was no longer interested in commission work or taking part of someone's hourly wage for my own benefit. I joined TerpSys in September 2008 and it was the best employment choice I have ever made!
Overall, I have been in Recruiting for 6 years. My experience is mainly with IT professionals, but I have also worked with HR positions as well. I have experience dealing with cleared professionals, but here at TerpSys we do not deal with DoD contracts.
I love recruiting because I love to help people, and I look at my job as helping others find what could potentially be their dream job! Nothing makes me happier than seeing employees that I recruited grow within the company. During our staff meetings, the President of TerpSys recognizes employees when they achieve a pretty big milestone in their lives, things like buying a home/having a child/getting married/buying a new car. I see the employees I have recruited growing within the company and it is amazing.
TerpSys has a unique culture, there are many different ways for you to become involved in the company. Some people do not care for this, they want to just do their work and go home. People even go out of their way to post about the culture on sites like GlassDoor. I will be completely honest with you, we do like employees to take part in our community service events and company functions as well, but the expectations are NOT unreasonable. I am married and have kids and I still get out to events, my family comes to most of them and the events that are for employees only I go to alone.
The people that have taken the time to post reviews apparently did not have a clear idea of what the company expects and should have consulted with the HR department or their manager to make sure they understood. If you ever have any questions about our company, please feel free to contact me.
