I hoped Drupal would be the solution for several concepts for communities I have in mind.
Unfortunately the more I work with Drupal the more frustrated I get. I feel I have uselessly spent 2 (+2 may 2011) years of working and living time trying to understand and use just a slight part of the possibilities and it's only getting more and more confusing each time.
I find there are a lot of apparently logical and simple concepts that should be standard, but don't even seem to be considered by Drupal program or community.
Things like USER MAP on user page.... Link from avatar to bigger user picture... or be able to include an Image Gallery in the corresponding Node... All need workarounds, patches or additional modules (which makes the whole more complex again...).A multi-language site should have only ONE map definition for a node, instead you get a new marker for every language when translating. And a lot of those unsolved "detailes" that make it impossible to get a site to any further than 70% of what one intends. In the 2 (+2)years I have been trying, I think I waisted 85% of my time on searching for solutions, placing questions or trying to find the correct files where to adapt code, instead of being productive.
