I believe that through good design, we can give more people more power to do what they do best.
Whatever that is.
For the majority this probably does not include writing websites, coding, or even CSS. They are not interested in this stuff, nor should they be. It takes too much time to learn and I'd prefer them to work on being scientists, or teachers, or journalists, or artists. Or different geeky projects!
I can see so many areas where Drupal can improve from usability and design standpoint. I can also see that efforts are starting to make things better.
But we are not doing enough. There is so much talent in this community that is going to waste. I believe it is time for that to change.
My skills are general rather than specialised. I draw, photograph, code, write. I have a degree in film, and part-time I'm pursuing a second degree in psychology. I'm not amazing in any of these areas, but the combination gives me different insights. I'm just trying to figure out how to apply them.
