The very backbone of Drupal is of course, community. Here in Ottawa we have a thriving community of developers and it’s about time we start to foster that sense of community Drupal was founded on.

OPIN is hosting the fourth Ottawa Drupal Meetup on July 10th with support from the Ottawa Drupal Association and Acquia. Whether you’re Dries Buyteart himself or just a part-time dabbler in the Drupal world, all are welcome. We intend to have a beer, share some knowledge, make friends, and by the end of the event hopefully learn something new.

This Meetup Tiffany Tse, Creative Director at Coldfront Labs Inc., co-lead of the Ladies Learning Code Ottawa Chapter and intsructor at Algonquin College, will be presenting on the changing face of education in web development. She will focus on what her experience as an educator and front end web developer has taught her. Discussion elements include: What is required to improve existing skills and acquire new ones in today's ever-changing web development landscape? How should we educate the next generation of web developers, designers and site builders? What are the challenges that newcomers face in this field? And finally, Tiffany will offer up 10 ways to better recruit, engage, and teach people how to code.

Please indicate if you would like to attend as there is limited space.

Date and Time: July 10th, 2014. 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Location: 320 Catherine Street, 2nd Floor. Ottawa, Ontario, K1R 5T5

All refreshments are generously supplied by Acquia (Vegetarian options too :) )

If you have any questions or are interested in presenting at the next meetup please contact Jon O'Sullivan at jon.o'sullivan@opin.ca

See you then!
