Enforcing layout rules with Paragraphs

One of the great things about Paragraphs is that you aren't restricted to a specific ordering of content components. But that's also its downside, sometimes there is a very good reason to require that specific content components (Paragraph bundles) are on a page and that they occur in a specific sequence.

One solution to this appears to be Paragraphs Profiles module (https://www.drupal.org/project/paragraphs_profiles). Judging by the description on the project page, this seems like just tool I need. Has anybody used this module?

Another concern is that when you have a content type that needs to have a specific content component(s) at the top, then an area of freedom in the middle and then another set of fixed content components. The best approach seems to be to create three paragraph fields (top, middle, bottom) and then use the above Paragraphs Profiles module to provide defaults and restrict for top and bottom. Sounds right, but are there any experiences out there that we cause me to pause?
