Having launched ChinaOpen this saturday, we will be shifting from Adobe's Flex/AIR track into Drupal, from Tuesday July 15, 2008 on.

This is an "introduction to Drupal" type of training, detail as follows:

将以drupal5.x版本讲述，暂定2008年7月15日上午9：30开始
主题：

1. Drupal简介及基础概念
2. 安装drupal（drupal5.8）

时间：2008年7月12号，上午12点，英语学习吧 （五道口）
费用：15元 （茶费）

Three months into planning, overcoming all kinds of odds and challenges (including the latest challenge of the Chinese firewall!) -- we are pressing ahead with ChinaOpen.

In short, this summer, for 2-months, we will round up 50-200 Chinese students to work on Open-Source projects from worldwide. Currently in two tracks:

We will hold the first-ever DrupalCamp in Thailand on Saturday, May 24th, at the conference facilities of Inet, on the 13th floor of the Thai Summit Tower, Petchaburi Road, just east of the Ratchadaphisek / Asoke intersection.

We will also be running a full-day "Intro to Drupal" track that will cover everything from setting up a basic install to intermediate skills of customizing with modules, CCK and Views.

We have been pondering about how to best evangelize China into the Drupal community -- and in droves.

After operating in China for two years, and despite of our best trying such as holding the Drupal BootCamp event in Beijing http://www.drupalchina.org/node/3638, our biggest challenge is the practicality of getting Chinese acquainted with Drupal -- BEFORE we can even talk about having them participate into the DROP program, let alone directly contribute into module or theme writing.

We have a Drupal training in Hong Kong in May 13-15 2008, as part of our Open Application Fabrication effort (www.openappfab.net)

It's a living training, meaning that course fee includes one year hosting of Drupal portal that you create in the class.

We are working on projects of increasing complexity and as a result we need to expand our development team. You will have experience with Drupal and with an understanding of internet technologies. For bonus points you will also have JavaScript, XHTML/CSS, SOAP, OOP, RDBMS, Linux sysadmin and/or open source/community experience.
