Drupal Nebraska Group
Welcome to the Groups site for the Nebraska Developers and Users Group, where we discuss, share and find ways to provide local face-to-face interaction which can support activities like hosting speakers, providing tutorials, Question and Answer sessions, establishing relationships with others in the geographic area, and generally expand the community of Drupal users.
Our meetups are generally every third Saturday of the month at 1PM in Omaha. Each monthly meetup has its own details/page with info on the specific location and time since it may vary.

Nebraska Code Camp - 2nd Year
There was some discussion of this last year, but no one had any presentation ideas... The code camp is sponsored by the .Net User Group, but the organizers are really hoping to diversify the languages represented, if you have a developer-oriented Drupal presentation. They cut off the presentation proposals February 17.
Any interest in chartering a bus from Omaha to Denver for DrupalCon?
I'm not sure how many people would be interested in this, but it's a fun idea if we could. Since it's a one-day drive and for those of us who hate flying, I thought it might be fun to charter a bus from Omaha to Denver (and maybe back) that would have wifi and power and we'd split the cost of it between those going. It would likely only be worth it if we can get probably around 20 or more people going. Thoughts?
(Drupal) Coworking Friday in NE - 1/27 - interest?

Big Omaha 2012
Big Omaha is Silicon Prairie News’ (SPN) premier event, held each May in Omaha, Nebraska.
In 2009, the inaugural event brought together 400-plus entrepreneurs, innovators and creatives to hear almost a dozen nationally-recognized speakers of the like. The goal of the event was simple: inspire attendees to follow their passions, build the businesses they love and strengthen their creative communities.
There's a new generation of innovators and entrepreneurs who are passionately making their mark on our community and Big Omaha is for them. This event brings together the region's best and brightest to motivate, challenge, excite and connect with one another, and in turn raise the bar on the level of work we're producing.
Discussions topics for the next Meetup
I was thinking we can see what people would want to discuss at the next meetup.
I personally would like to have a quick walk through, say 20 minutes, of preprocess scripts. Maybe a few examples and some common scenarios they are used in.

We are moving the October meeting to the 24th so it does not conflict with Halloween. We are likely to move the November and December meetings as well so stay tuned.
Do it with Drupal conference in the NYC
I seen this posted on twitter. http://2011.doitwithdrupal.com/ I'm not sure if it's a conference that's been around for awhile but seems pretty cool.
