Are you interested in meeting up with other Santa Barbara Drupal folks to build a community here? Introduce yourself and what your Drupal interests are. We're thinking to meet in a cafe like the Daily Grind. Feel free to post your venue suggestions and ideas for the group. What would you like to get out of a local drupal community?

Please post introductions
Please post introductions over at http://groups.drupal.org/node/10881 so we can keep 'em together.
In terms of a place to meet up, I think we need somewhere with good wi-fi and space - ideally not somewhere too hectic :)
Time wise, I guess Mon-Thurs evenings would be good, especially since that will likely make it easier to find somewhere quiet.

g.d.o is WSODing a lot today, huh!
count me in
I'm on the West Coast for a while and would love to meet up.
Does anyone know how many people will be getting together? I heard that the Daily Grind isn't a great place for large groups, but I don't know how many people will be coming so it may not be an issue.
Thursday nights for me
I am definitely interested and Thursday day or early evenings are best for me. Thanks grugnog for organizing this.

Learning Drupal
Hi All,
Interested in all things Drupal, and dare I say it here, Joomla as well.
I have zero interest in a Drupal vs Joomla war...but I have a strong interest in finding out the pros and cons of each system and how they compare with each other. I recognize this group may not have this interest...
Was having a devil of a time getting what I wanted out of Joomla and briefly a week or so ago looked into Drupal.
Seemed to have gotten over the hump for now...but I am genuinely interested in Drupal.
Have several cms sites either under construction (1) or in planning stages (2).
Have been building sites since 1996...but I am not a programmer or highly skilled with code manipulation.
Currently use Dreamweaver and built my last site with CSS.
Looking forward to getting together. Evenings at the Grind are generally pretty slow, not sure about dinner time though...should be OK...I am in and out several times each week and will check with them and post what I learn.
Thanks,
Roy
Joomla Perspective
Roy - I've met a couple of the Joomla developers at the Joomla! Day West 2007 Unconference and will eagerly share my perspectives. Looking forward to SB Drupal group meetings. Peace - Laura

New to the Area...
Hi There -
Am new to the area and would love to meetup with fellow Drupaleros.
how about the week of June 9?
I propose having a meetup the week of June 9 since it's two weeks before/after the LA meetups, which tend to be on the last Tuesday of the month. This way some of us can attend one or the other or both without too much hassle.
Are there any other suggestions of where to meet? The Drupal meetups I've been to have been in places from bars and ice cream shops in Boston to upscale restaurants in Miami, so I'm not really too particular where we meet as long as it isn't too noisy.
The inaugural meeting has been set!

any Drupal meetings in Santa Barbara summer of 2009?
I can't find any recent (July 2009) discussion or mention of any Drupal meetings or goings on in Santa Barbara. Perhaps I am simply not seeing them?
