Thursday night Austin Drupal Study/Work Group?

Hi,

At the last Drupal User Group in Austin, there was talk about coders getting together to work on their own projects Thursday nights. I haven't seen anything here or in the meetup.

Is anyone else interested in meeting up on Thursdays for some quiet study/work time on Drupal projects?

If you are, let's pick a venue and do it!

I think Triumph Cafe @ 7pm on Thursdays was what was decided at the meetup. I wasn't able to make it last week (assuming it happened) but I will be there this week.

I'll try to confirm with Jeff (the presenter last month) who was going to "run" it and post back here.

In the past, we've always used Triumph Cafe. I spoke with Truc, the owner, and he said that we're welcome anytime we want to come.

Jeff Cicolani has offered to host -- since I'm frequently in SF. However, whoever shows up first can grab a table. You are welcome to pull more tables together as more people arrive. Even if Jeff doesn't show up, we're still welcome. If you show up at 6:00, that's ok too. I've already asked the manager, Tri, to save a table for us. Look for the table that is reserved -- and make sure that it's the one for us. Sometimes multiple groups reserve tables.

Don't forget to buy something. Tran lets us use the place because most of the Drupalers either buy something to eat or order a coffee drink.

Thanks for the heads up Lynn and Brandon, hope to see Jeff and you there. Let's do it!

Aaron and David, hope to see you there too (and anyone else who needs to get some Drupal done). David, I hear your concern about distance - I'm South :-)

This seems like a reboot, so that night let's take a few minutes to quickly huddle on what each of us want for venue and format. Maybe something along 35 would be easier for North/South? Or a couple locations we oscillate between?

Let's see who shows up, what's best for everyone, and balance accordingly.

Hope to see everyone reading this and interested there :-)

I'll be there this, and pretty much every Thursday unless I have an overlapping photoshoot or there's another Drupal event that night.

@DavidFells I'm pretty much down the road from you (end of Kelly Lane, past 130, just outside the Pflugerville city limit). Carpooling is an option. That stands for anyone else in the Pflugerville/Southeast Round Rock area or anyone within, say, a mile off Mopac between here and there (I'd broaden that, but we're looking at peak traffic times)

AS Michael stated, this is a reboot. I'd like to talk format for the event to keep folks interested and returning. The more Drupalers in attendance, the more useful the events will be for everyone.

I'm very interested in this, but for the present I can't do Thursdays. That may change, though, once the semester's run it's course.
North is also good for me, but getting to Triumph wouldn't be a hardship either.

I'll join y'all whenever I'm able, and meanwhile please post if there are any changes to venue/schedule.

The Austin Drupal Dojo meets every Thursday at Triumph.
Jeff may not be there on the second Thursday. However, everyone is still welcome to come. Whoever shows up first, just grab a table.
