Would prefer earlier time

+1 for moving this to an earlier time. Personally, I would prefer something like 5:45, and if we stay on track we can be done by 7:00.

edit: 5:45

+1 Earlier works better for

Earlier works better for me as well.

timing

tom_o_t's picture

5:45 is the earliest I could make, earlier is better for me, but I'd rather have it later if that's what it takes for more people to attend!

Earlier

If we moved it earlier, many of us can then be able to have a night to do other things.

need time to get there from work

ericg's picture

For me, I need time to end my work day (I generally work until 6pm) and get up to midtown for the meeting. Any time before 6:45 would be impossible for anyone in similar circumstances. I know that in the past, it's been hard to start the meetings on time at 7 because we're waiting for other people who work traditional hours to show up

Looking to volunteer and network.

Earlier time may be better for unconventional work schedules, but 6PM is a standard end to the work day, so after that time makes sense. I'm fine with either, but think the reasoning for 7PM is more logical. (it seems to be about preference vs. schedule limitations) .

re: starting time

Everyone is bringing up great points, and personally I love an early start although I usually work until 6:30-7 (since I'm hosting in my office I have no commute of course). The problem has been that we can't get the usual suspects to the meeting until around then.

what if we split the difference and started at 6:30pm? @Ericg would that be ok, this way we can accommodate others without going too early?

sounds good

6:30 sounds like a fair compromise to me. I'll do my best to show up on time.
