Hey I'd like to form a group of SLers that are interested in conceiving and developing Drupal modules to support effective integration of Drupal online communities w/ SL online communities-- and then showing others how to do it well.
Tons of questions to look into-- how would you share content two ways between an SL "group" and a "group" in the "organic groups" paradigm of Drupal? How can you most easily post your Drupal based videoblog to your SL home? How can you grab conversations and visitor metrics from SL (which can still support ~80 people simultaneously in one place is that still correct?) and report them to your larger community on your Drupal site that can support 10,000s of concurrent users, etc. etc.?

We are looking for somebody who knows both Second Life as well as Drupal to be a part-time webmaster for the metanomics.net site. Metanomics is a prestigious weekly show about the metaverse and its impact on business and society hosted by Robert Bloomfield of Cornell University. It has been written-up in the Wall Street Journal and is the definitive show about this topic. This doesn't pay a lot, but also won't require too much time for a knowledgable webmaster. It is a great opportunity to work with some of the top thinkers in the metaverse.

2bits has released a Drupal SecondLife framework.
This allows modules to interact with SecondLife objects, and handle requests from in world.
A sample application and a test client is included.

Good Analog to look to: Moodle+SecondLife
Thanks to Troy McLuhan (http://groups.drupal.org/user/2566) for pointing this out to me. Looks like a great analog for us to look to, especially in light of efforts already underway to integrate Moodle and Drupal.
Wishlist for Second Life / Drupal integration
I have immediate interest in exploring the following Drupal/SecondLife integration elements: (not a comprehensive list! :)
-Have SecondLife chat transcripts autopost as nodes to a corollary Drupal site
-Map SecondLife accounts to Drupal accounts and vice-versa
-Have registering for an Organic Group on a Drupal site automatically add a user to a SecondLife group and vice-versa
-Have Nodes on a Drupal site automatically publish as posts in a SecondLife group and vice-versa
-Easily publish movies (video capture) of SecondLife activity to a node... A machinima (http://secondlife.com/showcase/machinima.php) plugin for Broacast Machine (http://www.getdemocracy.com/broadcast/) anyone? ;)
