LIGHTNING ROUNDS
New feature. Have a topic you can present in 5 minutes (with 5 more minutes for questions)? The basic idea is there are patterns for developing sites the "drupal" way ("what would drupal do? etc."). Tell us a quick 5 minute recipe for how to put the Drupal "bricks" together. Theming techniques or other things may also be appropriate. Propose it below. Make sure you mention it is for the "lightning round" otherwise it might get confused with a longer presentation.

20 Min Talks
Have a topic that needs more then 5 minutes, we have slots of 20 minute talks. The basic idea is there are broader subjects or more detailed discussions this is the type of talk you would want to signup for, please mention 20 min talk when posting your talk description and the audience you expect to speak to.

We will also have the New 2 Drupal BoF(birds of a feather). If you are new to Drupal and the talks don't apply to you some of us will take a group and talk with you about your issues.

Sorry for the confusion, the meetup is back on it's normal day of the month, the first Wednesday of the month.

Hello all! I'm new to the NYC Drupal scene (was working at the University of North Texas developing sites & spearheading some much needed web governance). I'm curious if any past presentations have been archived on the web so that I can get an idea of the breadth of topics that have been covered recently. I'd like to get involved but am worried I'd be treading on well-worn ground. Thanks.

Like many things Drupal-ly it's sort of ad-hoc and session taping depends on whether videographers are present. But it's a start!

I'd also like to invite you with a shameless plug for the Northern NJ Drupal Users Group meetup which takes place the week after the NYC one (for administrative reasons the day of the week will be alternating between Tuesday and Wednesday for the next few months). The location at NJIT in Newark is accessible by public transportation from NYC, and there is parking available. It's a smaller group, and we are in the process of planning an NJ DrupalCamp with the other more southern NJ DUG.

I can give a 20 minute talk on easing into configuration management with Blueprint. Blueprint is an awesome tool which does package, service, and configuration detection on a server and generates Puppet manifests, Chef recipes, or idempotent shell scripts.

I can give a 20 on Compass Image Sprites (what I was going to do in December but couldn't). Compass is an framework for Sass, so it'd be more of my Sass nonsense (which everyone seems to like, so I think that's okay).

In another first for the Drupal NYC meetup, everyone giving a talk this time round is named Sam.*

Sam K. on Blueprint, Sam R. on Compass and Sam B. on Occupy Drupal. Did we miss any Sams? Speak up now!

I'm especially looking forward to Sam Boyer's talk on the work he has been doing using Drupal for various Occupation projects which promises to be extremely insightful.

5 minute talk on Occupy Anti-Foreclosure Project

I am working with Sam Boyer and others on the Drupal based projects for the Occupy movement, including the FGA (Federated General Assembly) that Sam is working on primarily for the Occupy Wall Street movement.

I also have recently started an OWS Anti-Foreclosure Project with others because I think that the ongoing anti-foreclosure actions are the most important actions at this time.

I would like to talk briefly - 5 minutes - on the OWS Anti-Foreclosure Project after Sam talks about the "Drupal Occupying Occupy" project listed above.
