twilio

jersu's picture

It's been awhile since I've been to SeaDug, but I'm looking forward to getting back. I made a D7 module that might be of interest to the group. It uses the Twilio service. I thought I could demo it for the group.

edit: I'm drowning in work right now, I can't make it tonight. Sorry. I'll give this demo next time around if anyone is interested.

Node title suggestion...

jhodgdon's picture

Can I make a suggestion for next month's announcement? Include "Seattle" or SeaDUG in the node title. :)

Two reasons (really the same reason):
- Many of us are members of multiple groups on g.d.o, and get them in the daily digest. So when I see a new post called "April DUG meeting", I don't know off-hand (without clicking through) if it's Seattle, Missoula, or what.
- All Event content in all groups is posted on the central GDO calendar:
http://groups.drupal.org/events
If you look at April 19, you'll see at a glance that there is one in Niagra, one in China (or Japan? anyway I can't read it so I don't want to go), and one mysterious one just called "April DUG meeting". :)

Just a thought. You could start by editing the current announcement title too. :)

Good idea Jennifer

Will make the change.

While we're on the topic...

...please consider adding the date of the month to the body of the announcement. Although I know it's always the 3rd Thursday others may not and if they get emails like I do they would have to go to D.O. to see the actual date because it is in the D.O. header but not in the email.

mentored training for clinic

jkopel's picture

At a past seadug meeting we had discussed doing a mentored training session for the clinic.
I participated as a mentor in a training that Chris Shattuck organized at Drupalcon, and I think it would make a great model for us. I would like to take a few minutes talk about how it went, and how we might organize one here.

an excellent plan

doublejosh's picture

Sounds like an excellent plan. Watched a program about the increased success you can have if the program can be something folks can mostly be doing on their own and have mentor helpers mingling around answering questions and getting people unstuck.

Certainly would be cool... and why not break the lecture mold!?
OR maybe this isn't want you mean at all :)

Willing to do a quick demo

doublejosh's picture

Willing to do a quick demo of using the Drupal Coding Standards Sniffer within your IDE.

(Like using this http://ventral.org/pareview but much easier.)

Please do!

That's an issue I've been trying to work out.

MY GOAL: To easily build classes curricula for mentored training Drupal users on a range of topics and skill levels.

My thoughts on the SC Roadmap to an LMCS/LMS
http://drupal.org/node/1532782#comment-5884196
SC is addressing content as a way to gather and categorize content units according to Drupal topics and potentially any other body of "real world" information. This "real world" approach gives SC an edge. Here is my updated top down POV :
1. Catalog Management (long lived content with regular updates) <== after 2 ? (see Note 2)
2. Course Management (long lived content) <=== next after 7 & 8 ?
3. Class Management (medium lived content, months)
4. Class Section Management (medium lived content, weeks to months)
5. Registration & Enrollment Management (medium to long lived for certification and learning management)
6. Learning Management (students' and teachers' content, frequent updates)
7. Topic Management (SC in beta) (long lived content) (see Note 3)
8. Learning Unit Management (SC in beta) (long and medium lived content)

Drush session was great... thanks... For the beginners, I think the above link will be helpful as well.

Thanks Everyone

Thanks for making me feel so welcome at the meeting tonight. I really like the Drupal/Acquia t-shirt. I can't wait until the next meeting.
