Drupal meetups are officially back in the San Gabriel Valley and are now on the 4th Thursday of each month. Following our reboot of the SGV Drupal group with our Reboot and Drupal After Dark at Intelligentsia on May 17th, we're meeting this time at Il Fornaio in Old Town Pasadena on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 6:30-8:30pm. Join us!
Those interested in attending this meetup remotely are welcome to join us via WebEx.
The projector, raffle prizes and video conferencing support for this event are being provided by Exaltation of Larks, a Drupal strategy, consulting, development and training company with a team of Drupal experts in Los Angeles. Follow us at @LarksLA to learn more about our Drupal services and upcoming trainings.
For any changes to our agenda for the evening, stay tuned to this meetup announcement or click the Sign up button below (or both!) and be notified when the agenda has been updated and to receive the organizers' phone number.
What to bring
Just bring your laptop, your business cards or whatever else you need.
Although we're meeting at a restaurant, there is no obligation to buy food or alcohol.
Join us on WebEx, Twitter and IRC!
This meetup and its featured presentation will be broadcasted via WebEx, courtesy of Exaltation of Larks. WebEx works in your browser, whether you use Linux, Windows or Mac OS X.
To join the meeting, click the Sign up button below to receive the meeting URL and password (a Drupal.org account is required).
During the meetup, several of us will be in the regional #drupal-la channel on IRC and all are welcome to join us. The event organizers will also be monitoring Twitter for feedback and questions that mention @SGVDrupal.
Users Helping Users
The meetup begins at 6:30pm but you're welcome to come earlier at 6pm for Users Helping Users, which is a chance for members of the community to help and be helped by others with whatever questions and problems they're having with Drupal.
Please note that while Users Helping Users is not designed to be a replacement for bona fide consulting from a Drupal professional that there are plenty of Drupal experts and professionals who attend our meetups and sometimes they need help, too!
Agenda
Our meetups follow a basic format and start off with Drupal news and announcements, local job announcements, raffle prizes and full-length presentations.
As always, we'll have community Q&A, during which time anyone in attendance can ask questions, divine answers from the crowd and give brief, 5-10 minute-long presentations known as lightning talks.
After the meetup, we'll finish off the night with more networking and a Drupal After Dark at 8:30pm. We may go out for coffee or tea at Intelligentsia or over to Jake's or Lucky Baldwin's for something stronger.
Afterward, a few of us will be walking down to the ArcLight for a 9:30pm showing of The Dark Knight Rises. See http://groups.drupal.org/node/244963 for more details.
Even if you can't make it to the meetup, going to the Drupal After Dark is a great way to meet your fellow Drupal community friends and colleagues. Join us!

About San Gabriel Valley Drupal
We've been having Drupal meetups in the San Gabriel Valley since June, 2010. In addition to scheduling monthly meetups, our organizers hold occasional trainings and workshops and get together for social gatherings.
Attending SGV Drupal events is one of the best ways to meet and talk with other Drupaleros and we encourage you to attend meetings and special events regularly. See our event schedule at http://groups.drupal.org/san-gabriel-valley for more.
Whether it's to find solutions to problems you've been having, sharing something you've learned or just meeting interesting like-minded people, the SGV Drupal events are an essential resource for Drupal professionals and hobbyists alike.

Would anyone like to discuss
Would anyone like to discuss or rehearse their DrupalCamp LA presentations at Thursday's meetup?
This is the last meetup in the Greater Los Angeles Area on the calendar before the camp, so this is your last, best chance!
I, for one, wouldn't mind doing a practice run of my Front-End Scalability & Performance session.

Exaltation of Larks would
Exaltation of Larks would like to add an additional raffle prize for tonight's SGV Drupal meetup: a free seat at our Drupal Best Practices class at DrupalCamp LA! http://www.larks.la/training/2012/07/27/drupal-best-practices
This is normally $499 and is priced at 60% off for attendees at DrupalCamp LA. Drupal Best Practices is an intermediate to advanced class to help take Drupal developers to the next level. It's one of our favorite classes and has been one of our most popular.
The only catch is that this class is tomorrow, Friday, July 27th. This is pretty much last minute, but we'd like to help train as many people as possible and this month have been raffling seats at several Drupal meetups around Southern California. This is the last time we're offering this class until September.

My apologies, everyone. I am dealing with a private matter and will be a few minutes late to this meetup. Please feel free to begin without me, either with presentations or a community Users Helping Users session until I arrive. Thanks!
