CADUG 7/31 Meeting Notes

These are abridged notes from last night's CADUG meeting. Please post comments about what I am forgetting here. I will be sure to record the next meeting so we can dictate this more transparently.

Welcome to CADUG
- What is CADUG?/Why does it exist?/Where is it headed?
- Members ask questions/discuss meetup purpose/agenda.
- Members discussed possibly starting a twitter to submit questions to for lighting talks.
- Members discussed possibly creating a place to submit lightning talk questions and track/vote on these questions getting floor time.
- Members talked about possibly streaming the meetup so remote ppl could listen in and interact w meetup.
- Members discussed other ways to capture meeting content.
- Members discussed the possibility of future meetups starting big and splintering into small groups with specialized interests after a bit of large group discussion is resolved.

MWDS Recap
- Members detailed their experiences of MWDS - overall extremely positive.
- Great venue, productive, hungry for more dev summits.
- Not the easiest location to get to was only major criticism.

Next Developer Summit?
- Members expressed interest in another developer summit, possibly in Minneapolis, Chicago or Indianapolis.
- Members stated that a Dries "buy-in" is an important driving factor for intitiative leads to attend because its not always easy to get face time w him.

DrupalCamp Chicago Discussion
- Members discussed DrupalCamp Chicago both past and present
- Members voiced concerns about currently selected venue for 2012.
- Members were encouraged to get involved and help out with DCC2012

Lightning Talks
- Various tech topics were discussed during lighting talks.
- Will try to do a better job documenting this portion next month!

This was our first meetup so there was much more community discussion than what is expected to be the average. We did get into some technical topics which was awesome. We're looking at 8/28 for our next meetup.

Note sure if this is the 100% best place to start future lightning talk discussions, but it has to start somewhere so feel free to post your own meeting notes or ideas for future CADUG content here.
