September Manchester Meetup

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

I apologize for the late notice, but we will need to reschedule our September meetup that would normally have been tonight. Michelle and I would be unable to attend this evening, and since this didn't go up sooner, I don't want to leave the rest of the group without some ramp up time for the topic for this evening.

I'll reach out today to see if the following Thursday night is available for us at the ABI Hub, and post an event as soon as I can!

If there's any opposition to rescheduling, let me know, and I can setup the event for tonight as normal, and you guys can carry on as normal.

Just a thought...

If ABI isn't available next week, maybe we could look into just having the meetup at the Farm Bar & Grille. We've kinda joked about it before, but it might be fun and a nice change.

I think someone said that they have meetups in the back room there and there's a large screen TV we could plug into (?)

NH PHP?

MMachnik's picture

The last two months NH PHP has held its meetup on the third Thur at ABI -- but there is not one scheduled yet for this month. So not sure if the room is available, it may be. I know I'm not available next week, I have a prior commitment (taking our 6 and 3 year olds to see the Fresh Beat Band at Meadowbrook! :)), but if it works out for everyone else definitely do it.

I also wanted to mention, for the October meetup, some members of our team would be interested in talking about a recent project we did at CommonPlaces -- CRS (Council of Residential Specialists, http://crs.com) -- it's in the rotation on the front page of drupal.org as one of the featured Sites Made With Drupal. The case study is on the Case Studies page in the Featured Showcase (http://drupal.org/case-studies), or directly at: http://drupal.org/node/1734842 if anyone wants more information.

This was a project we think really shows off the strengths and power of Drupal 7 and involved features such as API integration, Drupal Commerce for membership and file access, Apache Solr and geolocation/geospatial search, online education, etc. We could present on some of these aspects and demo the site (which is live), and answer any questions. We also hope it will give others some ideas too! Please let us know what you think and perhaps we can get it on the schedule for October (11th I believe). Thanks!

I'm interested to see the CRS

I'm interested to see the CRS presentation. I've only seen bits and pieces of it as I was working on other CP projects when this was being built, but I know it's a complex beast that others can learn from. :)

Next Thursday works for me

Farm Bar and Grille sounds like a good idea if it will work out. I can check with them if you'd like me to.

I asked on the Manchester PHP

I asked on the Manchester PHP meet up to see if there is a meeting next week. Maybe meet the following week on the 27th?
Mike I would also be interested in hearing about your project. I may have a new project to do for a non profit that holds conferences. Jake I was wondering if I could get a copy of your D 7 version of COD. :)

Jake have you had a chance to

Jake have you had a chance to check with ABI? I've asked on the PHP meetup list to see if there is a meeting this week but there has been no response. I also emailed Andrew directly and have not heard back anything and that was a few days ago.

Hi Mary, See my reply at

There is no NH PHP meeting

mkmagu's picture

There is no NH PHP meeting this month so ABI maybe available.

Mary M.

So, is there a meeting tonight?

If so, where? (I've read all the above comments, but didn't see anything definitive; just saw choices.)

Boy... If there is one, I'd

Boy... If there is one, I'd need to know about 30 minutes ago in order to get there.

I just assumed there was not

I just assumed there was not one since there was no further discussion on a meeting place.
