Advice on how to best train new comers

Hi there,

What is the best way / fastest way to introduce new comers to Drupal ? I have three/four developers that either have no or little experience with Drupal, and I need to bring them up to speed.

Advice will be highly appreciated.

Are there any courses (live or online) you recommend? Anyone giving 'private' intro courses? Any great tutorials out there? Anything else?

BTW, one or two will be Front end and other back end developers.

Ron,

I had the same issue with training some of our team that was moving from other frameworks. I would highly recommend http://drupalize.me by Lullabot. Their resources are great and will be useful as your team grows.

There are a few companies that can provide in person training, but they are usually pretty pricey as you have to travel to them and pay their training fees. I can point you to a few companies that will do that type of training.

You are more than welcome to give me a call and I can share more of my experience and the path we took to solve the problem.

hi all,

i run one of the playdays aside from the one at treehouse. hopefully ill do more of it in the coming months and im gearing towards new devs that are hoping onto the drupal bandwagon. I'm going to try to focus more of the playdays/workshops on the newly released: drupal.org/project/quickstart project ... its a major starting point in training new devs to adopt drupal best practices.

Thanks for you advice. Quick start looks cool (and xcubicle even cooler...).

We do have endless wars with setting our environment on MAC, especially since we are using NGINX etc.
