Topics/Presentations
We'll have at least two short sessions, preceded by networking / introductions:

1) Views / Panels: Thanks to Bob Newby, we'll be given an overview of these two powerful modules, which are often essential to many projects.
2) Future Planning: Bring your 2013 calendar and ideas for planning future meetups.
3) Question and Answer: Please bring a question/issue you've ran across in the past month, or something cool/amazing they've discovered in the past month. If you have a specific, complex issue be prepared to stay a little later and be paired with an individual who can help you.

Views / Page Manager / Panels / Panes

In my mini-seminar, we will deconstruct a social media site's User Dashboard that consists of multiple panels presented as a group of tabs -- Recent Activity, My Content, My Bookmarks, My Network. Each of these panels consists of several panes, some of which are views panes.

This Q&A tour will help those unfamiliar with some or all of these mechanisms to grasp how they and Fields (CCK in D6) play together end-to-end.

Our discussion will also provide a small window into an associated topic, namely how Panels etc. puts content in charge of the page -- as opposed to the traditional regions-and-blocks approach that places the page in charge of its content.

Come join us this Thursday

We're working to reinvigorate the Seacoast DUG. I encourage you to attend this Thursday's meeting.

Bring your questions, plus any compelling discoveries you've made, to share with others.

If you have limited experience with either Views or Panels, you'll find my informal "seminar" on the subject worthwhile.

And don't forget to indicate that you'll be attending by signing up here.

Cheers,

Bob
