Topics/Presentations
We'll have at least two short sessions, preceded by networking / introductions:

1) Updating Drupal: keeping core and contributed modules up-to-date can be a challenge. We'll follow some best practices as we walk through an update.
2) Question and Answer: Please bring a question/issue you've ran across in the past month, or something cool/amazing they've discovered in the past month. If you have a specific, complex issue be prepared to stay a little later and be paired with an individual who can help you.

I'm not sure. Must've been an auto-complete fail. :)

There is some prior input on possible meeting topics at http://groups.drupal.org/node/275178. I suggest we continue the discussions here.

Updates and upgrades

Bob Newby's picture

I'd be interested hearing about others' ins-and-outs updating modules.

Personally, I have more experience on the upgrade front, having upgraded a site from D6 to D7 in a number of stages. Although tools including Drush Site Upgrade (http://drupal.org/project/drush_sup) and the CCK Content Migrate module were of great help, I have had to come up with custom methods for porting many pieces of content from D6 to D7. So, I'll be happy to discuss my experiences anytime.

Taxonomy

Some folks have previously expressed interest in getting a handle on Taxonomy. If there is interest, I can definitely speak to this.

It's great to have this

It's great to have this discussion going! I asked my friend and update guru @cwells to start us off with a presentation/demo of best practices when updating. Then we can launch into other update tips... and woes. :)

@Bob: would you be interested in saving Taxonomy for March? I have a feeling that updates may take up all of our time and Taxonomy could also easily fill an entire evening as well.

I am flexible. Is your friend

I am flexible.

Is your friend going to speak about updates of modules, or about version upgrades?

Good question... the answer

Good question... the answer is both.

Can't make it

I was really looking forward to the topic, but I won't be able to make it. I started taking classes and of course, they are on Thursday nights. But I'll see you at the Summit and any time Michelle and Jake host co-working Friday.

There are still spaces

There are still spaces available for people who want to join us. See you there.

Grrrr. Not sure...

I really wanted to ask some questions on this topic, but I'm up against the wall with this storm coming and some dead equipment. So there's a high probability I won't make it.

Good luck to those who can make it!

Thanks to everyone who came

Thanks to everyone who came to the DUG last night., We had a good general discussion of updates / upgrades. One gem that we found was Drush Site Upgrade.

@BruceDawson: I hope the farm and your animals weather the storm OK!

@ripinnh: Let's more at the Summit, but the folks who attended last night were open to adjusting the schedule.
